ohh-meh-gawd...stawks!

I am still long in Lundin Mining company(LMC) and really hope that Thursday's earning bring some good news that lifts the stock at least back into the 6's. After that I am hoping for some positive news about Tenke. I am in this stock big and have had to sell other positions to free up some capital to keep buying shares to lower my cost basis. I sold all of my SMN for only a small profit, now I see it is knocking on $40s backdoor. I also sold NVDA for a big loss, I had to sell after LMC went under five dollars and my margin requierments jumped up to 75% and that is my first margin call. I also sold EXP to free up some cash too. I really like EXP as a long term play on housing comeback. I don't know if management is still aggressively buying back stock but I still would like tp pick up some more shares in the next couple of months. Whelp. tanks for reading I'll try to post updates ore often than four months apart.

We're back

It turns out getting permits to build your future base on the side of an active volcano isn't as easy as it is in the movies. Lots of red tape and disappointment have plagued snakelogic for the last couple of months but we are back and just as mediocre to disappointing as ever. What can the loyal readers of Snakelogic expect in the next couple of posts?....I think we have some stories about the stock market and how it fires us up during most of 08. I also think we have some stories about a a tray with fast food garbage all over it arranged in an artistic manner that we like to call society.

crash? more than just an overrated movie

Sometimes, when you are talking about the stock market with uninformed people they always bring up the the fact that it may crash. To that I say to them "yeah, I would be upset it it crashed, just as upset as I would if your mawm crashed on the way home with my pie". The main point is I would not be that upset because I have frozen pies in the freezer. That carries over to the market too, you always need some downside risk protection. A broad short like the 200% inverse of the S&P (SDS). On the big down days you can make some more skrillah from selling your short positions to buy more of your long term favorites.

That is about the most intelligent thing that my brain will be able to produce on 4-20.

Mmmm....Za

So, I am on a diet right now trying to get cut-up for the warm weather season that approaches. One of the hardest things on my diet is not to eat is pizza. I do really lub that shit and it seems the more I try to stay from it, the more I see it in everyday activities. Take a look at some of these things I ran into and tell me if you also see some subliminal pizza messages.

I was out for a nature hike the other day in the mountainous terrain of Howell and I saw this peculiar rock formation that had a striking resemblance to.....

Now after my nature hike I did have a urge to eat some pizza but I thought if I found something else to do that wasn't related to food it would take my mind off of eating Za.
So I got out the old binoculars for a little bird watching an what do I see but some goddamn little birdies eating some delicious pizza leavings. So now you are telling me that birds get to fly south and eat pizza? Sign me the fuck up.



Alright things are starting to seem a little weird but I don't really think too much about it.
I turn on the TV to pass some time and start watching an episode of The Office. Then what do I see, but those ass-holes Creed and Kevin indulging in sweet, sweet pizza.


Ok, no more TV. I just remembered I need to get a new microwave. I guess I'll head down to Sears and take a look at what they had to offer.

The only truckin' model they had in stock, had a mini pizza oven on the top. Alright, mini pizza oven microwave is not on the budget at this time. I guess I'll have to heat food up like my ancestors did with a fire and a stick. What is the conversion rate for microwave time to open flame again? Don't worry, I'll figure it out.

Now on the way home I stopped at a rest area to take a squirt and what do I see....

Alright I can't fight this anymore time to give into my cravings for some Za. But what type of pizza could possibly satisfy epic hunger? After scanning the P section of the phone book the best thing I could come up with is..............
Pizza with mini-pizzas as toppings.......Alright back on the anti pizza wagon for another three weeks or until a weird series of events forces my hand to more slices of Za again.

Bought more SMN today

Picked up some more SMN today, lower my cost basis a little and make this trade work sooner.

What I'm in right now

• LMC (NYX)- This stock has been beaten down enough, I've taken my canings, it's time for the upside. I want to lighten up on this one, but I keep buying more to lower my cost basis.

• SMN (AMEX)-This ultrashort ETF in theory should help me make money on the swings in LMC. ( I'll get a chart of the two up shortly)

• KRY (AMEX)-What can I say about this stock but that I've held over a year (tax break?) but still waiting on that Venezuelan dog Chavez to give the go ahead and issue the permit. My position in this is so small that it is more like a lotto ticket at this point.
  
  

Finally got the rights back...

After an extensive battle with the Chinese government I won the rights to have Snakelogic as the name to my blog. Now the important job is to fill it up with the a n()()bs perspective on stocks, current events and other random musings. Plus some witty banter here and there, if I have time.
